Category Double Ups:

You may enter more than one division within your chosen category: model, figure, bodybuilding. For example a competitor may enter Bikini Model Trained junior, novice and their height class. If this competitor is not sure if they are best suited to Bikini Model Trained or Fitness Model, as these are both model divisions they can enter in both Bikini Model Trained & Fitness Model divisions. There is no cross category double ups, for example you cannot enter in a model division and figure division, please choose either Model or Figure.

Bodybuilding competitors can also choose to compete in both a Classic Bodybuilding divisions and an Open Bodybuilding division, along with Junior or Masters & Novice if they qualify, but cannot enter a model division.

Models can only enter model divisions not bodybuilding divisions.

NOW OFFERING FIRST TIMERS FOR ALL CATEGORIES.

First Timer = never competed - this must be your first ever competition (any federation, any time, any category).

Novice = never placed first, in the division you are entering, with any federation, at any time.

Junior = Under 23 years of age.

These may be subject to change and competitors will be notified of any such changes prior to events and reiterated at the competitors meeting at contests. On participating in any Australian Bodybuilding Federation Championships, the competitor agrees to adhere to the rules of the Federation and will respect all their fellow athletes, all judges and officials. All athletes therefore agree to accept and respect the judging panel decisions as final. All classes will be judged on the athlete’s attitude, confidence, posing, poise and commitment to their time on stage.

Judging Definitions:

Symmetry: The athlete should present a physique that has a shoulder width equal to their thigh width. Chest thickness equal to their glute thickness. Chest, back development to their quad, hamstring development. All with the taper in to the waist. Equaling the Symmetry of an x-frame.

Proportion: The athlete should present a physique that is equally development throughout muscle groups.

Balance: The athlete should present a physique that has equivalent dimension of muscle groups. Chest thickness to back thickness, bicep to tricep, quad to hamstring, calf to forearm to neck. With all tapered in at the waist.

Condition: In all the Men's classes, including Mens Physique and Muscle Model. All athlete should present a conditioned physique appropriate the the class of choice, that has a low amount of body fat allowing the judge to see the muscle separation of all muscle groups and definition throughout the competitor.

Condition: In the Ladies classes athletes should present a conditioned body appropriate to their chosen class. In all ladies classes a Healthy, Feminine physique WILL be encouraged, but bone exposure and over dieting will NOT. All ladies will conduct themselves in a professional, athletic manner, with the individual conducting themselves with femininity, poise, personality, confidence and charisma.

Tanning, Hair & MakeUp:

All competitors are required to use the official ABF tanning services to ensure all competitors have the correct tan for the ABF stage lighting and criteria. Traditional bodybuilding competition tan may be perceived to be too dark for some of our divisions. The venues we use have strict backstage rules, requiring NO TANS to be applied once inside the venue, except by our official tan team.

The ABF have contracted a Hair & Makeup team for our events. The team is briefed on the particular look we are looking for with our female competitors for marketing purposes.

Swimsuit Model

Swimsuit Open & Swimsuit Mumma.

Swimsuit Model competitors will be encouraged to have a symmetrical figure with clear evidence of a balanced muscular form and tone. A healthy, vibrant presentation. The judge would expect to see evidence of fit shoulders, arms, back , firm glute hamstring area, delivered through overall symmetry. One round, t-walk followed by quarter turns. Attire will be a 1 piece swimsuit, color of choice which can be decorated with crystals. There is no limitation on level of crystallisation or “bling”, your costume should be an expression of your personality while on stage. Adequate decency, with frontal areas sufficiently covered, thongs are prohibited. High heel shoes are to be worn with a small platform sole. The color and style of the shoes will be the competitors own choice.

Bikini Model Toned

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Short (under 161cm), Tall (over 161cm), Masters, Bikini Mumma.

Ladies Toned Bikini Model competitors will not be encouraged to have such a low body fat that muscle separation is evident, but the judge would expect to see evidence of fit shoulders, arms, back , firm glute hamstring area, flat midriff. All delivered through symmetry and balance. One round, t-walk followed by quarter turns. Attire will be a 2 piece bikini, colour of choice which can be decorated with crystals. There is no limitation on level of crystallisation or “bling”, your costume should be an expression of your personality while on stage. The bikini must be of adequate decency, with frontal areas sufficiently covered and thongs are prohibited. High heel shoes are to be worn with a small platform sole. The colour and style of the shoes will be the competitors own choice. Jewellery can include, earrings, bracelet/s and wedding bands plus other rings, No tiaras or head jewellery All jewellery are competitors own choice. Your tan should not be as dark as a figure competitors.

Bikini Model Trained

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Short (under 161cm), Tall (over 161cm), Masters, Bikini Mumma.

Ladies Trained Bikini Model competitors will be encouraged to have a lower body fat than above class allowing some muscle separation to be evident, a well balanced athlete with clear evidence of a balanced muscular form. One round, t-walk followed by quarter turns. Attire will be a 2 piece bikini, colour of choice which can be decorated with crystals. There is no limitation on level of crystallisation or “bling”, your costume should be an expression of your personality while on stage. The bikini must be of adequate decency, with frontal areas sufficiently covered and thongs are prohibited. High heel shoes are to be worn with a small platform sole. The colour and style of the shoes will be the competitors own choice. Fitness Model

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Short (under 161cm), Tall (over 161cm), Masters, Fitness Mumma.

Ladies Fitness Model competitors will present an evolving figure for filling Judges expectations for a Fitness Model that shows, progressive evolution of the female form. Body fat levels are low enough for muscle separation and athletic endeavour to be awarded. Definition is encouraged, especially a visible six pack and leg development. Athletes will display an athletic, feminine form.

Primary areas of development: must have defined mid section with abdominal muscles displayed. A focus on leg development, calves hamstring and quadriceps displayed. A focus on development in all areas of the back. Secondary areas of development: Balance in the biceps, triceps and shoulder area. An overpowering single muscle in this area will not be rewarded.

Two rounds, first round sports attire quarter turns only, second round bikini round t-walk followed by quarter turns. Sports wear round attire is competitor own choice, no thongs permitted. Attire for bikini round will be a 2 piece bikini, colour of choice which can be decorated with crystals. There is no limitation on level of crystallisation or “bling”, your costume should be an expression of your personality while on stage. Figure

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Short (under 161cm), Tall (over 161cm), & Masters.

Ladies Figure competitors should present a physique which is more conditioned and with the lower body fat than the model classes, but still holding on to femininity. The competitor will be expected to produce a figure which will allow the judge to see muscle definition and separation. Judges will not reward any ladies that present a figure with extreme vascularity or extreme striations or with any traits which could allow the feminine form to be lost. Quarter Turns followed by Compulsory poses. No posing routine. Attire will be a 2 piece bikini with a crossover back, colour of choice which can be decorated with crystals. The bikini must be of adequate decency, with frontal areas sufficiently covered. High heel shoes are to be worn with a small platform sole. The colour and style of the shoes will be the competitors own choice. Jewellery can include, earrings, bracelet/s and wedding bands plus other rings. No tiaras or head jewellery. All jewellery are competitors own choice. No posing routine.

Bodybuilding

Open Class

Ladies Bodybuilding competitors should present a physique which is more conditioned and with the lower body fat than our figure class, but still holding on to femininity. The competitor will be expected to produce a figure which will allow the judge to see muscle definition and separation. Quarter Turns followed by Compulsory poses. No posing routine. Attire will be a 2 piece bikini with a crossover back, colour of choice which can be decorated with crystals. The bikini must be of adequate decency, with frontal areas sufficiently covered. No shoes. Jewellery can include, earrings, bracelet/s and wedding bands plus other rings. No tiaras or head jewellery. All jewellery are competitors own choice. No posing routine.

COMPULSORY POSES FOR BODYBUILDING: Front double bicep, front lat spread, side chest, side tricep, rear double bicep, rear lat spread, abs and thighs, most muscular.

Physique Model

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Short (under 178cm), Tall (over 178cm), Masters.

Men's Physique Model class will be judged on a physique with an athletic appearance but must still have symmetry, proportions, balance, definition and overall condition and a complete package, with skin tone/condition, hair, facial features and an even tan cover taken in to consideration. One round, t-walk followed by quarter turns in board shorts. Your tan should not be as dark as a bodybuilding competitors.

Muscle Model

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Short (under 178cm, Tall (over 178cm), Masters.

Men's Physique Model class will be judged on a physique with an athletic appearance but must still have symmetry, proportions, balance, definition and overall condition and a Complete package, with skin tone/condition, hair, facial features and an even tan cover taken in to consideration. One round, t-walk followed by quarter turns in euro style trunks. Your tan should not be as dark as a bodybuilding competitors.

Classic Bodybuilding

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Class 1 (over 173.1cm), Class 2 (167.1cm-173cm), Class 3 (under 167cm), Masters.

Men's Classic Bodybuilding is predominately striving for a physique that will be judged on symmetry, proportions, balance allowing no muscle groups to be too big or small. Equal development between shoulders to thighs, with a taper to the waist. With all muscle groups flowing into the next. Definition and condition for the complete package, with overall stage presence and posing ability, skin tone/condition and an even tan cover taken in to consideration. Quarter Turns followed by Compulsory poses. Posing trunks to be competitor’s choice of colour and style. (Thongs are not permitted). No posing routine.

Bodybuilding

Junior, First Timers, Novice, Class 1 (over 173.1cm), Class 2 (167.1cm-173cm), Class 3 (under 167cm), Masters.

Men's Bodybuilding will be judged on Symmetry, Proportions, Balance, Definition and Overall Condition and a Complete package, with skin tone/condition and an even tan cover taken in to consideration. Quarter Turns followed by Compulsory poses. Posing trunks to be competitor’s choice of colour and style. (Thongs are not permitted). No posing routine.

MODEL WALK
